The Test
Testing will consist of the following aspects:
Visual Examination
A thorough visual examination will be carried out in order to check for:
- Any damage to the flex
- Any damage to the plug and/or casing (signs of overheating etc)
- Any incorrect wiring within the plug
- The presence of an incorrectly rated fuse
Electrical Tests
A series of electrical tests will then be carried out to identify potential faults. These may include:
- Earth Bond testing
- Insulation Resistance
- Flex Polarity Test
- Earth Leakage Test
- Load Test
- Touch Leakage test
- Functional check
Pass or Fail of the appliance
Once all the tests have been carried out, the appliance will be labelled with a sticker to display the result of the test (pass or fail) Any maintenance or remedial actions that can be taken to repair any faults will be carried out during the test, and any major faults will be reported to the relevant person.
